One last word with you freelance peeps before I move house
Hello
I’m moving house, which is always a bloody pain in the bum when you’re a freelancer. I’ve realised that apart from the usual Xmas trek (basically a week spent in a car travelling from Wollongong to Orange to Wagga to Narooma and back to Wollongong again), the only holiday I have had in the last 3 years is to move house.
Definitely have to take some of my own self-care medicine and change that for the future!
Anyway, as I live on the set of what can only be described as the world’s biggest game of Tetris waiting to move next week, I thought I’d reflect on life and send you an email. I hope you enjoy it.
Things that have tickled my brain
As I dig through all my possessions to box, bag and prepare to move, I can’t help wondering what would happen if I got rid of everything that didn’t spark joy?
I’m putting tax in the too hard basket for the moment, but if you’re getting yourself sorted, please, read this first.
I take the time out to nod in agreement with Adriana Petkov as she outlines how not to offend your customers with cultural faux-pas.
Not everybody who freelances made the choice to do so.
With moving on my mind, I wonder if I can take a leaf from architect Andrew Maynard’s book and design a mental health positive home.
